If you watch Iron Chef, love flowers, and will be in the DC area this weekend, then have we got the event for you. Join us this Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Washington National Cathedral’s Pinnacle Stage (West Front Steps) to help decide the winner of the first DC Iron Florist! Four talented local florists (and Bloompop Partners) will participate in a live design competition in front of you and a panel of expert judges, including former White House Chief Florist Laura Dowling.

Iron Florist • Saturday, May 2 • 11 a.m. • Washington National Cathedral

Today, we unveil the fourth contestant in our all-star Iron Florist cast. Without further ado, we present: Jeanne Ha of Park Florist in Takoma Park, MD.

Jeanne has an extensive background in floral design, having gained experience under her aunt Wee Park, who owned Park Florist for 16 years. The shop itself has been standing in Takoma Park since 1935. With a passion for sharing floral design knowledge, Jeanne is a co-founder of the Washington Flower School, where she also instructs budding floral designers.

When we chatted with Jeanne about Iron Florist, she said that she thinks of the competition as a challenge against herself. With her arsenal of design knowledge and experience, she plans to enjoy the competition and follow her instincts.

As for what inspires Jeanne? The flowers she works with, her surroundings, other art forms, and when working with a bride, her personality and her dress!

See Jeanne live and in-action, designing what we’re sure will be a masterpiece. Iron Florist will be this Saturday at the Washington National Cathedral’s Pinnacle Stage at 11 a.m. on the dot. And for now, keep scrolling for just two of our favorite Park Florist designs, available for delivery in Takoma Park.
