Introducing: Our state flowers

state flowers

Do you know your state flower? In celebration of spring, check out this fun animation highlighting all of them.

Each one of the 50 states and DC has an official flower among its symbols. DC’s is the American Beauty rose. Established in 1918, Maryland’s is the black-eyed Susan.

Interestingly, many state flowers are actually flowers that bloom off of trees rather than flowers that grow from the ground up. Virgina’s official flower, for example, blooms from the American Dogwood.

Fun fact! Maine’s national flower isn’t a flower at all. Better check the animation to see what it is ;)
